Some things need a podiatrist. Nail and skin problems, diabetic foot checks, routine care, or anything where the foot itself is the thing that needs treating rather than the thing that's been affected.
That's why we work alongside RS Podiatry Clinic. If something falls outside what physiotherapy can help with, you're not sent away to start again somewhere — you're pointed at someone we know and trust, who already knows how we work.
It works both ways. A heel that hurts might need treating at the foot, or it might need calf capacity built — and you shouldn't have to work out which before booking.

There's overlap, and plenty of people need both. Here's the difference — and if you're unsure, just ask.
We work with how your body moves and loads — muscles, joints, tendons and the way they work together. If your foot pain is coming from how you're running, what your calf can tolerate, or how your hip is behaving, that's us. We assess, treat hands-on, and build the strength that stops it returning. Foot and ankle problems are often a symptom of something happening further up.
Podiatrists specialise in the foot and lower limb itself — nail and skin problems, ingrowing toenails, corns and callus, verrucae, diabetic foot checks, and conditions affecting the structure of the foot. If the foot is the thing that needs treating rather than the thing that's been affected, that's a podiatrist.
If it hurts when you move, load it or run on it — start with physiotherapy. If it's the skin, the nails, or something you can see, start with podiatry. If you genuinely can't tell, ask us. We'd rather point you to the right person than take a booking that doesn't help.
Our running and sports assessment looks at how you actually move - gait, biomechanics, strength and the demands of your sport — and builds a plan around what we find. It's the right starting point for recurring running injuries, or anyone who wants to run more without something going.

Abi is clear, concise and has a huge knowledge. Her experience and ability to diagnose and advise has been so beneficial to me with various niggles in back and legs and also to my son post arm break surgery and the subsequent rehabilitation. Thanks Abi.
