You've had the operation. Now you need someone to take you the rest of the way.
The operation is done and everyone seems pleased with it. You've got a sheet of exercises, a follow up appointment in twelve weeks and a fair amount of uncertainty.
Nobody has really explained what you should be able to do by now, or how hard is too hard, or whether the ache after you walked to the shops means you've overdone it.
Surgery fixes a structure. It doesn't rebuild the strength you lost before it, during it and in the weeks afterwards. That part is a separate job, and it's the part that decides how well you end up.

Surgery is one part of the process. It changes the structure. Everything that happens afterwards decides how much use you get out of it.
After an operation you lose strength quickly, and you'd already lost some in the months of pain beforehand. Muscle that isn't loaded reduces fast, and the joint loses the control it depends on. Scar tissue and swelling limit movement early on, which is normal and manageable with the right work at the right time.
The goal is to bring load back in gradually, respecting the tissue that's healing, while rebuilding everything that got weaker along the way.
This is more than physio - its a partnership. We will be with you every step of the way and this becomes a toolkit for life to look after your body, understand what it needs and how to build lasting strength for the things you love.

First we work out what's actually going on, and why. You'll leave the first appointment with a clear understanding of the cause — not just the symptom — and we settle things down enough to start moving properly again.

Hands-on treatment where it helps, and a programme built around you — your week, your goals, what you can actually keep up. This is where strength and capacity get built back properly, and progressed as you go.

The stage that stops it coming back. You'll understand your own body and have a way of training that's practical, simple and actually enjoyable — so you stay fit and out of pain for life, doing the things you love.
Whatever brings you in, the approach is the same — find what's driving it, treat that, then work with you to build lasting strength and resilience.
