Back pain that's lasted months, keeps coming back, or has stopped making sense.
It's been months now. Maybe years. It flares up, settles a bit, then comes back, usually just as you'd started to trust it again.
You've probably tried a few things. Rest, painkillers, a sheet of exercises, a few sessions of treatment that helped for a week. You may have had a scan and been told it's 'wear and tear' or that nothing serious is wrong, which is reassuring and also no help at all with the fact that it still hurts.
Now it's shaping your week: how long you can sit, whether you'll sleep, whether to say yes to that walk or that job in the garden. That's complex back pain, and it needs a different approach from a simple strain.

Most back pain settles within a few weeks. When it lasts more than three months, or keeps returning, it usually isn't because something is badly damaged. It's because several things are now keeping each other going.
The back can become more sensitive, so ordinary movements hurt more than they should. Avoiding bending and lifting slowly takes away strength and confidence. Poor sleep and stress turn the volume up. And scan findings like disc bulges, which are very common in people with no pain at all, can leave you worried about moving in case you make it worse.
None of that means the pain isn't real. It means the answer is rarely just treating one spot.
This is more than physio - it's a partnership. We will be with you every step of the way and this becomes a toolkit for life to look after your body, understand what it needs and how to build lasting strength for the things you love.

First we work out what's actually going on, and why. You'll leave the first appointment with a clear understanding of the cause — not just the symptom — and we settle things down enough to start moving properly again.

Hands-on treatment where it helps, and a programme built around you — your week, your goals, what you can actually keep up. This is where strength and capacity get built back properly, and progressed as you go.

The stage that stops it coming back. You'll understand your own body and have a way of training that's practical, simple and actually enjoyable — so you stay fit and out of pain for life, doing the things you love.
Whatever brings you in, the approach is the same — find what's driving it, treat that, then work with you to build lasting strength and resilience.
