Stairs, hills and getting up off the floor — the things you've started planning around.
Stairs were the first thing. Then hills. Then getting up off the floor after playing with the kids, which you now do with a hand on something.
You've started planning around it in small ways you wouldn't necessarily admit to. The route with fewer steps. The seat on the end of the row. You've stopped saying yes to things and blamed being busy.
Knee pain has a way of shrinking your world quietly. Most people don't come and see us when it starts. They come when they notice how much they've stopped doing.

The knee is a fairly simple joint caught between two complicated ones. It mostly bends and straightens, so when the hip or the ankle isn't doing its job properly, the knee ends up absorbing the difference.
That's why knee pain so often has very little to do with the knee itself. Weak glutes, a stiff ankle or a sudden jump in training load will all show up there first.
Knee pain is also one of the most misdiagnosed problems we see, because several quite different conditions produce pain in roughly the same place. Getting the name right matters, because the plans look nothing alike.
This is more than physio - its a partnership. We will be with you every step of the way and this becomes a toolkit for life to look after your body, understand what it needs and how to build lasting strength for the things you love.

First we work out what's actually going on, and why. You'll leave the first appointment with a clear understanding of the cause — not just the symptom — and we settle things down enough to start moving properly again.

Hands-on treatment where it helps, and a programme built around you — your week, your goals, what you can actually keep up. This is where strength and capacity get built back properly, and progressed as you go.

The stage that stops it coming back. You'll understand your own body and have a way of training that's practical, simple and actually enjoyable — so you stay fit and out of pain for life, doing the things you love.
Whatever brings you in, the approach is the same — find what's driving it, treat that, then work with you to build lasting strength and resilience.
